Key West
The most interesting parts of the Hemingway Home and Museum were the bathrooms. One had floor tiles that made me think of the Sahara, Cuba, and good music all at once. Painted deep yellow with figures and shapes that could have been animals or trees or the dark outline of a jungle at night against a full moon.
The other bathroom was smaller with less popping color. My guess is that this was his wife Pauline’s way of keeping him out of it and having the bathroom to herself.
